REMARKS: The Weld County Food Stamp caseload continues to increase. The June 30
participation showed 2 ,776 families receiving Food Stamps during June. This is 6%
higher than the previous month of May and 23% higher than the same month in 1978
when 2,250 families were Food Stamp recipients. Migrant worker households account
for much of the increase compared with the prior month of May. Other caseloads did
not show remarkable change during June.
Expenditures for June, 1979 (excluding Old Age Pension) were $594,091. This amount
was $33,623 higher than the previous month and $56,867 higher than the same month in
1978. Expenditures are expected to increase in July as cost of living increases
averaging 6-7% for most public assistance recipients will be reflected.
Department expenditures remain within budget with 46% expended for the first half
of the fiscal year.
