RE: EXTENSION OF REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 30 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 47 AND
49, FOR AN ADDITIONAL SEVEN (7) WORKING DAYS, FOR PAVING AND
UNANTICIPATED DELAYS AND ADDITIONAL COMPLETION WORK
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, on October 3, 2016, by Resolution #2016-3098, the Board, pursuant to said
statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, determined that conditions
existed which made it necessary to temporarily close through traffic and to regulate, warn and
guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting signs thereon, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an extension request for the closure to
remain in effect until November 12, 2016, for an additional seven (7) working days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the continued posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn, and/or guide traffic
thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to
the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 30, between County Roads 47 and 49,
be extended, with said extended closure being effective October 5, 2016, for an additional seven
(7) working days until November 12, 2016, for unanticipated delays and additional completion
work, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure
giving notice of the restrictions.

SUBJECT: BOCC Agenda Item
IHC is requesting to extend the closure of WCR 30 between WCR 47 and WCR 49. Original
approved closure dates were 10/5/16 to 11/5/16. They would ask to extend the final date to
11/12/16. The project experienced unanticipated delay, Century Link was unable to relocate their
service feed. This delayed the completion of area dirt work. While completing the area dirt work
several spots were found that required additional exaction and base placement. The extension of
the closure will allow for IHC to complete the work at the intersection of CR 30 & CR 49.
