RE: APPROVAL OF EXTENSION OF MOTOROLA CONTRACT ON COMMUNICATIONS
EQUIPMENT TO JANUARY 1 , 1979.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. was
awarded the bid for communications equipment for the County of
Weld on September 17, 1975 which was, on October 1, 1976, extended
to October 1, 1977, and
WHEREAS, the original contract with Motorola was extended
a second time to July 1 , 1978, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Purchasing Agent has requested
that the Board of County Commissioners consider extending said
contract a third time from July 1, 1978 to January 1, 1979. Said
extension, if approved, would result in a savings of 15% to 20%
to Weld County, and
WHEREAS, the Board, being desirous of the savings involved
with the present system, deems it advisable and in the best
interests of Weld County to extend the contract with Motorola
until January 1, 1979.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the extension to Janu-
ary 1, 1979 of the communications equipment contract with Motorola
Communications and Electronics, Inc. be, and hereby is , approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 18th day of
October, A.D. , 1978.
