RE: WCR 17 IMPROVEMENTS INFORMATIONAL LETTER
Dear Mayor James:
Weld County would like to inform you of roadway improvements in your area which are forthcoming in 2016. Below is a
brief description of these projects.
The existing railroad crossing on CR 17 between CR 50 and CR 52 will be replaced by Great Western
Railway. This work is finishing today. August 8, 2016.
• The existing railroad crossing on CR 48.5 just east of CR 17 will be replaced by Great Western Railway.
This work is scheduled to start August 19th, and will take three (3) days to complete. Weld County has
agreed to contribute $33,518 towards completion of this work.
• CR 17 between the Johnstown city limits and CR 54 will have an asphalt mill/overlay completed by a County
crew. This work is scheduled for mid -September, and will take three (3) weeks to complete. The cost of the
asphalt materials for this project is approximately $350,000.
These improvements will benefit both of our agencies and citizens. Please feel free to contact the Weld County
