HomeMy WebLinkAbout20163593.tiffMEMBERS OF THE KEENESBURG AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY POST #180 PROCLAMATION OF APPRECIATION WHEREAS, the members of the Keenesburg American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post #180 have served the Weld community since 1919, providing volunteer work, fund raising, and charitable donations to help support military veterans, and WHEREAS, the group works for God and Country to advocate for veterans, educate citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace, and security here in Weld County and across the country, and WHEREAS, on September 11, 2016, the Keenesburg American Legion Auxiliary Post #180 organized a Remembrance Walk, wherein the community was invited to walk from the Keenesburg fire station to the American Auxiliary and place 6,850 flags in the ground for every active serviceman and servicewoman who lost his or her life during combat after 9/11. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Board wishes to express its appreciation to the Auxiliary Members of the Keenesburg American Legion post #180, for their efforts in serving military members, military families, and veterans here in Weld County.
