Minutes WELD COUNTY COUNCIL June 15, 2015 The Weld County Council met in full conformity with the Weld County Home Rule Charter, Monday, June 15, 2015, at the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, CO. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Councilman Abernathy and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of members thereof: Councilwoman Marge Klein Councilman Brett Abernathy Councilman Don Mueller Councilman Jordan Jemiola Councilman Charles Tucker Also present: Mike Wallace, Weld County Public Safety Director and Sarah Mundt, Council Secretary. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Councilman Mueller made a motion to approve the June 15, 2015 agenda. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Klein and the motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: • Formal Approval of the May 18, 2015 Minutes, Councilman Tucker motioned to accept the Minutes. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mueller and the motion carried. PROGRAM REVIEW: Mike Wallace, Weld County Director of Public Safety Mr. Wallace presented the structure of the organization and described the positions that exist in the organization, specifying each positions job duties and requirements. The Department dispatches for 20 fire agencies, 17 police agencies, 9 EMS agencies, and 13 other agencies. Each year the department receives 500,000 phone calls, 1,369 phone calls a day and dispatch responds to 320,000. Weld County has both a critical incident center as well as a fully redundant backup center for unexpected failures. For the first time is 4 years, the Department is fully staffed. Code Red is a new notification system vendor that allows the Department to use a reverse phone number system to receive updates. Citizens can sign up at www.weld911alert.com . Mr. Wallace invited the Council to tour the Public Safety Communications facilities. PUBLIC COMMENT: None at this time OLD BUSINESS: None at this time 2015-4099 Weld County Council June 16, 2015 Minutes NEW BUSINESS: • Coordinator Reports o Three of the Council members attended the Transit Summit. Councilman Tucker, Councilwoman Klein and Councilman Jemiola attended the summit and The Council members all gave an update. Councilman Jemiola asked if the Council would be interested in drafting a letter of support for the 1-25 Coalition project and help the effort for the Resilience Grant process. Councilman Abernathy asked Councilman Jemiola to draft a letter to consider at the next Regular Meeting. • Upcoming Meetings/Invitations- none • Pay bills — Council Mueller made a motion to pay all bills, Councilwoman Klein seconded the motion, and the motion carried. ✓ Mileage for Councilman Mueller ✓ Mileage for Councilman Abernathy ✓ Mileage for Councilwoman Klein ✓ Mileage for Councilman Tucker $ 5.94 $ 9.72 $ 68.04 $ 38.88 ADJOURNMENT: By acclamation, the meeting was adjourned at 7:21 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the Weld County Council will be on July 20, 2015 at the Pierce Firehouse.
