COLORADO From Wayne Smyth, County Engineer
Subject: Letter From "Concerned Citizens of Rinn"
The attached letters from the Rinn area requests stop signs be installed
on Weld County Road 7 at Weld County Road 202. The justification is that
this is a residential area and the traffic on Weld County Road 7 should
be halted for safety reasons. The attached traffic count shows ADT of
nearly 600.
I recommend that the stop signs be installed as requested.

Dear Sirs,
As concerned citizens of the Rinn area, -we are writing to you to
request your attention to the traffic problem at the intersection
of Weld County Roads 204 &7 . At this time there are stop signs
for road 201. We feel that a need also exists for stop signs to be .
placed on road 7 also. We list the following reasons :
1. There are over 20 children in the immediate area of Rinn, some
of whom ride bicycles on the road(there are no sidewalks)to get from
one house to another.
2. There is no real break in the traffic flow on road 7 from the
beginning of the pavement at the 7/18 intersection until the 7/
highway 119 intersection. This is a span of approximately 24 miles
with no interuption of traffic flow, passing directly through a
residential area. With today' s smooth and efficient vehicles on a
straight even road it is quite easy to exceed the 30 mile per hour
speed limit through the Rinn area. Stop sign would help to lower
•
this average speed and make the Rinn area a safe place for our .
children, and for all of us.
American decency and common sense dictate that this matter be
looked into and dealt with as soon as possible.
Respectfully submitted,
Concerned Citizens of the Rinn area.
Rev. Martin R. Gutzmer
