Ms. Renoad,
Your letter of September 17th has been referred to me for response and I will address as many of
your concerns as I can.
Weld County only maintains CR6 from the northeast corner of your property East to Interstate
25. The rest of County Road 6, including the portion directly adjacent to your property, is under
the jurisdiction of the Town of Erie.
The maximum legal speed limit on Weld County's portion of CR6 is 55 mph. We conducted a
traffic count in 2014 and discovered that 85% of the 526 vehicles per day were traveling at 49
mph, and 20% of that was truck traffic. Any speeding issues should be referred to law
enforcement and the Town of Erie Police Department would be the appropriate agency.
County Road 6 is a public roadway and is legal for all forms of commercial and noncommercial
use. The only exception would be in instances where specific truck routes have been allowed or
excluded. Many times, as was likely the case with Encana, routes are altered for any of a number
of reasons.
The intersection of County Road 7 and Erie Parkway is completely under the jurisdiction of the
Town of Erie and the suggestion for traffic control at that intersection should be directed to the
town.
Thank you and please contact me if I may be of further assistance.

Dear Commissioner:
I was recently asked to fill out a wellness survey for Weld County.
These are the comments I entered as to how the county could make
my health better.
I have fibromyalgia and stress very easily. I had wanted to address
these issues especially about the trucks every day as they speed
past our house. But except for calling to turn them in usually to
only waste my breath, I have had no energy to take them on.
I have used a lot of my precious energy trying to get traffic
assistance to stop these idiots from speedy. Erie would respond for
a few days but Weld County has done nothing. Our road is our
road is split between Erie, Broomfield and unincorporated Weld.
Therefore, no one is really interested in helping us.
I figured if I helped you with your survey, you could help me
before someone is killed or our house falls down around because
of all the vibration these trucks cause on a daily and nightly basis.
Thank you,
Janet Renoad

One thing I would suggest is to make all the new subdivisions in the county
have to let non -community county residents use their fancy recreation
centers. Currently you can not unless you live there or are there as one of
their guests. They use our water, our fire, our police but refuse to let us use
their recreation facilities. When Vista Ridge first came in that was one of
the things they used to get us to support them. Even though I have been
considered Erie all my life, now I an even a non-resident there! Vista Ridge
and Erie are just like 5 minutes away from me. They should also have to
pay to have county roads resurfaced etc. Since it is getting greater use
because of them.
Also we live on Road 6 and at least a hundred dirt, water, cement and other
large trucks go by daily. County would not let Encana don't know why
these trucks are allowed to go past. We have asked for traffic assistance
because they speed by at least 45-60 miles an hour. We have not gotten any
assistance from Weld County. I even ask for a speed trailer for a day and
have yet to see one. They are a huge hazard as they are going to kill
someone. Also all the extra pollution from them is also hard on our
breathing. ALL THE EXTRA VIBRATION FROM THEM IS ALSO
CAUSING OUR. OLD HOUSE TO SHIFT A LOT CAUSING HUGE
CRACKS TO FORM. It is bad enough we have to put up with the fracking
going around us we should not have to put up with the extra traffic with all
the speeding, noise and other health hazards they create. They go by so fast
I cannot even get a company name off of the truck they are driving, or I
would turn them into their company!
