Dear County Commissioners,
RECEIVED
NOV 28 2016
WELD. COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS
Let me first express on behalf of the Town of Kersey our gratitude to you and your staff. We genuinely
appreciate the time and effort each of you puts into your respective positions and greatly appreciate the
attention you've shown to the Town of Kersey. We consider ourselves to be in a partnership with Weld
County.
As you know, a group has formed to develop County Road 54 between 125 and Hwy 34. The meetings
have been productive and from Kersey's perspective we are excited about this project and the potential
it has for our community. Although difficult to imagine, the portions of the CR 54 south of Kersey will
become an important part of our future economy.
I would like to request the Commissioners aid us in developing CR 54, especially in those areas where
the roadway currently doesn't exist. Securing the right of way along this stretch for future road
development is very important to the project and this is the appropriate time to work on this before
more development occurs. Ultimately, we would like to see the physical road be built (even if just
gravel initially) effectively completing CR 54 as a drivable road from 125 to Hwy 34. In the short term, this
will immediately begin to help with truck traffic passing through the main part of Kersey. In the long
term, this provides the future basis for developing CR 54 as a complete road as envisioned by the
coalition.
Both Mayor Kellerhuis and I would be happy to meet with you all regarding this request. We both,
along with the rest of the Town Board and the citizens of Kersey thank you for your time and
consideration.
Sincerely,
Christian Morgan, Town Myrfiager _
Bob Kellerhuis, Mayor _
