Kim Ogle I F)anner From: DDech8o29(oaol.com To: Kim Oale Subject: USR15-0049 Date: Tuesday, November 03, 2015 7:15:01 AM Dear Kim, I am too busy on the farm to attend today's hearing on the Tri State powerline. So I thought I would email my comments to you to pass along to the planning commission. Tri State is proposing to put their transmission line parallel to an existing Excel transmission line through Section 19, 2N, 65W, which I own. The Excel powerline runs East — West. I question the need for so many transmission lines in the area. Only two and a half miles north there are two more Excel transmission lines both running East — West. That makes three East - West lines for Excel. Rather than Tri State condemning my land for a another transmission line, I would rather they condemn Excel's line through my property; it's already there. Or put in a new double transmission line and then remove the old one when the new one is up and running. I would give them the right of way for free if they did that. I know Tri State and Excel are two different companies and I also question why they both have to be operating in the area. I always thought the reason power companies are granted monopolies in their service areas was to avoid a duplication in facilities. Yet duplication is what they propose to do on my farm. Instead they just want to run all over everyone's land. My use of the land for anything other than farming will be greatly diminished. They even affect my farming as they are difficult to farm and spray around and I cannot stack hay under them either. sincerely, David Dechant EXHIBIT r {hL1 I l Hello
