RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 30 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 47 AND 49 FOR
APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH, FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF INTERSECTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 30, between County Roads 47 and 49,
be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective October 5, 2016, for approximately one
month for the reconstruction of the intersection of County Roads 30 and 49, and further, that
standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the
restrictions.

SUBJECT: BOCC Agenda Item
IHC is requesting permission to close CR 30 between CR 47 to CR 49 from 10/5/2016 to
11/5/2016 for the reconstruction of the intersection of CR 30 & CR 49 this is part of the CR 49
Project. There are around 1 1 18 vpd on this segment of CR 30. IHC has notified all landowners
and the oil and gas facilities on CR 30 from CR 47 to CR 49. They are coordinating with the
facilities in the area. Message boards will be placed in advance of the closure.
