RE: AUTHORIZATION OF HOUSE BILL 1041 FLOOD PLAIN STUDY IN THE
SEVERANCE AREA AND IN SHEEP' S DRAW, WEST OF GREELEY, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , on the 24th day of January, 1978 , the Board of
County Commissioners executed a contract with the State of Colo-
rado regarding House Bill 1041 Supplemental Funds for the St.
Vrain River Project and the Little Thompson River Project, and
WHEREAS, Weld County budgeted $10 , 000 .00 for match funds for
the Little Thompson and St. Vrain Flood Plain studies and $2, 375. 00
of the said match funds have not been used, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the Department of Planning
Services that the unexpended match funds in the amount of $2 , 375. 00
be used for flood plain studies on the Slough, which is located in
and near the Town of Severance, Colorado, and Sheep' s Draw, which
is located west of Greeley, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that
it would be in the best interest of Weld County, Colorado to allow
the expenditure of the unused match funds for the two abovementioned
flood plain studies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the expenditure of the
unused match funds in the amount of $2 , 375 . 00 for the two above-
mentioned flood plain studies , be and hereby, is approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of
April, A.D. , 1978 .

Dear Mr. Lang:
This letter regards cost-sharing the Weld County , Colorado, Sheep ' s
Draw Floodplain Study .
The Weld County Board of Commissioners has approved $1, 748 . 33 of County
General Fund monies and $1, 748. 33 of Supplemental 1041 fund monies for
the purpose of studying the flood hazard along the above mentioned
stream within Weld County, Colorado. The Board, therefore, agrees to
cost-share in this study to the amount of $3, 496. 66 with the Colorado
Water Conservation Board. Such monies will be paid over to the floodplain
study consultant upon completion of this project , or at such time as
shall be mutually agreed upon by Weld County, the Colorado Water Con-
servation Board and the consultant .
