RE: APPROVE STATEMENT OF SUPPORT FOR WELD PROJECT CONNECT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld County has had the opportunity to recognize there are residents and
families who are in need of assistance, and understands that the problems causing distress in
these households include issues such as health and medical concerns, foreclosure, and other
situations which could be remedied or at least mitigated with collaborative assistance among
governments, non -profits, and the business community, and
WHEREAS, upon the crest of the overwhelming success of previous Weld Project
Connect events, United Way of Weld County, along with the City of Greeley, Weld County
government and collaborative partners, are excited to announce that Weld Project Connect 2016
is scheduled for October 14, 2016, at Island Grove Regional Park in Greeley, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld Project Connect will provide a one -day, one -place opportunity for those
in crisis to receive tangible assistance in resolving their difficulties. Examples of available services
are: resume writing, bank information, loan counseling with bank officials, dental and vision
screening, free legal counseling with local attorneys, flu shots, animal licenses, assistance
payments counseling, and haircuts, and
WHEREAS, Weld County residents are encouraged to answer the call to connect with
their neighbors on October 14, 2016, and volunteer as a navigator at Weld Project Connect by
signing up at www.weldproiectconnect.orq
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Weld County Board of County
Commissioners congratulates the many volunteers for their selfless giving to our most needy and
encourage all who can to volunteer at Weld Project Connect on October 14, 2016.
