RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 17 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 50 AND 52 FOR
APPROXIMATELY FOUR (4) DAYS, FOR RAILROAD TRACK REPAIR
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 17, between County Roads 50 and 52,
be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective August 5, 2016, for approximately four (4)
working days for a railroad track repair, and further, that standard official traffic control devices
shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 8th day of August, A.D., 2016.

WCR 17 between WCR 50 and WCR 52 is scheduled to be closed from 8/5/2016 to 8/8/2016.
WCR 48.5 between WCR 17 and WCR 21 is scheduled to be closed from 8/19/2016 to
8/22/2016.

Railworks changed the plan on me today. They will NOT close LCR 3 this weekend. They would like to close
the aftached WCR 17 between CR 50 and CR This will be closed Friday morning until Monday morning. I
will keep you all poste or t e o owing changes. Let me know if anyone has any questions.
