HOUSING AUTHORITY
WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
OCTOBER 23, 2017
The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Housing
Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Administration Building, Greeley, Colorado, October 23, 2017, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members
were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Julie A. Cozad, Chair
Commissioner Steve Moreno, Pro -Tern
Commissioner Sean P. Conway
Commissioner Mike Freeman
Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer - EXCUSED
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Stephanie Frederick
Controller, Barbara Connolly
MINUTES: Commissioner Conway moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority Board
meeting of September 25, 2017, as printed. Commissioner Moreno seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
CI NEW BUSINESS:
In response to Commissioner Conway, Tom Teixeira, Executive Director of the Greeley -Weld Housing
Authority, presented an update on The Glen's neighborhood in Dacono, Colorado. Mr. Teixeira explained
Habitat for Humanity is purchasing several lots and they need $200,000.00 in grant money. He further
stated the Greeley -Weld Housing Authority Board has $215,000.00 that is available to distribute and
there is also $126,000.00 available from the sale of the Farm Labor Housing in Peckham. Commissioner
Conway thanked Mr. Teixeira for his work on this project. Chair Cozad stated she has had discussions
with Cheri Witt -Brown, from Habitat for Humanity in Greeley and they are looking at the possibility of
doing some rehabilitation in the Hill -N -Park neighborhood.

There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:03 a.m.
