Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment Second Floor Hearing Room 210 The Weld County Board of Health met October 24, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the Second Floor Hearing Room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. Those present included: Board Members: Joyce Smock, Vice Chair; Jim Rohn, Linda Kautz, Tim Annable, and Nicholas Berryman. Others: Lauren Light, Environmental Health Manager, (WCDPH&E). Aurora Medina, Social Work, Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment(WCDP&E), Mike Schwan Health Promotion, Communication, and Education. James Taloumis, APPROVAL OF AGENDA A motion was made by Tim Annable to approve the agenda as presented. And Nicholas Berryman seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Nicholas Berryman to approve the August 22, 2017, minutes as submitted. Jim Rohn seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. ADMINSTRATION CONSENT ITEMS A motion was made by *** to approve Biosolids Application for ***. the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. A motion was made by *** to approve the Engineer Design Services. seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. * * * seconded PRESENTATIONS Aurora Medina, Social Worker, Public Health Services, shared information on free resources available to all Weld County residents and how she has assisted many families in need. Mike Schwan, Public Health Education presented on Health Education Prevention (birth -4) and on the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations on breastfeeding. Mike also shared statistics on childhood obesity. James Taloumis presented on the Weld County Air Program, enforced State CFC Program, ozone completion compounds, inspections of auto body businesses for air quality and other businesses. He also spoke about the Weld County burn permit program and who can apply for a burn permit. Applicants may apply on-line or in person. James also shared information on the follow up process on noise, air, dust and other environmental complaints. NEW BUSINESS A motion was made by Linda Kautz to adjourn the meeting. Nicholas Berryman seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. A correction to September 26, 2017 minutes, Jason Maxey adjourned the August 22, 2017 meeting, only a chair member can adjourn the meeting.
