HomeMy WebLinkAbout20174112.tiffPROCLAMATION OF APPRECIATION JERRI JANTZ AND BATTER UP CAKES WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Weld County celebrated the completion of the Weld County Courthouse, which took 18 months to build for a total cost of $414,302 and was likely Weld County's first debt -free project, on July 4, 1917, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, along with the 19th Judicial District and the Courthouse Centennial Celebration Committee desired to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Weld County Courthouse in 2017, and WHEREAS, the group planned for a community event to occur June 30, 2017, where the public could gather, tour the building, learn its history, and share in the celebration of the building, which has been referred to as "The Jewel of the Plains," and WHEREAS, Batter Up Cakes in Greeley donated a 500 -pound cake replica of the Weld County Courthouse for the public to enjoy at the celebratory event, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, the 19th Judicial District, and the Courthouse Centennial Celebration Committee wishes to formally thank Jerri Jantz, owner of Batter Up Cakes, along with her hard-working staff, for the dedication, commitment and contribution to the Weld County community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Board expresses its sincere appreciation for Jerri Jantz and her donation to the county as well as her contribution to the successful anniversary celebration of the Weld County Courthouse.
