ASSOCIATION OF FAIRS, FAIR MANAGER OF THE YEAR
JANET KONKEL
WHEREAS, the Weld County Fair Coordinator, Janet Konkel, has been
awarded the 2016 Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs, Fair Manager of
the Year award.
WHEREAS, in coordination with the fair board, Janet Konkel has been
able to increase the county fairs sponsorship and budget by over $36,000
since 2011 through developing new relationships within the community.
WHEREAS, in coordination with the fair board, Janet Konkel has tirelessly
promoted the Weld County Fair and with additional sponsorship has
increased attendance by roughly 20,000 fair -goers since 2011; providing
a completely free family fun event for our community.
WHEREAS, in coordination with the fair board, Janet Konkel has provided
a showcase for nearly 1000 exhibitors to exhibit 6000+ exhibits annually,
while providing a safe atmosphere for positive competition for those who
choose to participate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Board wishes to
express its appreciation to Janet Konkel for her efforts in helping meet the
goal of growing the Weld County Fair into one of the largest completely
free fairs in Colorado, while encouraging as many community, 4-H and
FFA members to participate in exhibition or otherwise.
