The Weld County Board of Health met June 27, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the Second
Floor Hearing Room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and
Environment. Those present included:
Board Members: Jason Maxey, Chair; Joyce Smock, Vice Chair; Bill
Wood, Linda Kautz, James Kuemmerle, and Nicholas Berryman.
Others: Dr. Mark Wallace, M.D., M.P.H., Director of Weld County
Department of Public Health and Environment, (WCDPHE); Commissioner
Moreno; Katie Sall, Environmental Health Services, (WCDPH&E); Debbie
Drew, Director of Clinic Services, (WCDPH&E); Melanie Cypres, RN,
Public Health Nursing; (WCDPH&E), Deb Adamson, Interim Environmental
Health Director; (WCDPH&E); Lauren Light, Environmental Health
Manager, (WCDPH&E).
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approve the agenda as presented. Joyce Smock
seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Joyce Smock to approve the May 23, 2017, minutes as
submitted. Linda Kautz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried
unanimously.
ADMINSTRATION
Mark Wallace, MD, MPH, Director of Weld County Department of Public Health
introduced Commissioner Moreno. He also spoke about the emergency exercise the
Health Department participated in.
NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made by Bill Wood to approve Biosolids Application for Veris
Environmental LLC. DS1700009. Nicholas Berryman seconded the motion, and the
motion was carried unanimously. Luke Bond represented the application for Veris
Environmental LLC. Public opposition was from Brenda Johnson.
CONSENT ITEMS
A motion was made by Joyce Smock to approve Biosolids Application for Veris
Environmental LLC. DS200920, DS200405, DS200428, DS200546, DS200636, DS200643,
DS200644, DS200645, DS200646, DS200647, DS200648, DS200650, DS200707, DS200708,
DS200711, DS200718, DS200719, DS200921, DS201211, DS201213, DS201214, DS201307,
DS201313, DS201318, DS200303, DS200657, DS200701, DS200702, DS200703. Linda
Kautz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.
PRESENTATIONS
Debbie Drew, Director of Public Health Services
Melanie Cypres, RN gave a presentation about the Local Infant Life Initiative
program.
Deb Adamson, Interim Environmental Health Director, gave a presentation about the
food program. She spoke about the food grades on the web -site and Yelp.
A motion was made by *** to adjourn the meeting. *** seconded the motion, and
the motion was carried unanimously.
