HomeMy WebLinkAbout770826.tiff ..377 RESOLUTION RE: ADOPTION OF POLICY CHANGES REGARDING THE ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, desires to declare and implement the following policy changes within the Road and Bridge Department effective August 1, 1977: 1. Motor Grader Operators - The eight hours per day worked by the motor grader operators may be other than the regular 8 : 00 A.M. to 5: 00 P.M. shift. Said hours worked will be under the direct supervision of the district over-seer. The over-seer must guarantee the eight hours per day worked by each employee to the Board of County Commissioners. 2. Road Maintenance Methods - Motor grader operators shall be trained in at least two methods of grading. The Engineering Depart- ment shall set standards for the maintenance. After the operator has been trained, he may be allowed to determine which method is to be used. 3. Bridge and Culvert Crews - The bridge crew shall remain as a centralized crew. A culvert crew will be established in each of the three districts . 4 . Construction, Paving - Trucks are to be headquartered in the district shops and they shall be on call by either the construc- tion or paving crews. 5. Compensation Time - Comp time will remain at one hour worked to equal one hour comp time. The comp time may be scheduled and taken over a three month period. 6. Monthly Meetings Scheduled - Each district shop shall meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 4 : 00 P.M. At least one Commissioner will attend each shop' s meeting. The County Engineer and the Supervisors will meet with the Commissioners on the second Wednesday of the month at 8: 00 A.M. A ' a �ids ni 3 / r c / � �% , , ar 770826 I L i �7 d 7. Commissioners in Field - Four out of five County Commis- sioners each month will be responsible for spending one day in the field. The responsibility will rotate among the five County Com- missioners so that the individual Commissioners will not have the responsibility each fifth month. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 13th day of July A.D. , 1977.
