RE: APPROVE DISCOVER WELD COUNTY PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - THE TRIBUNE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Discover Weld County Partnership
Agreement between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Public Information Officer, and The Tribune,
commencing upon full execution of signatures and ending December 31, 2017, with further terms
and conditions being as stated in said agreement, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreement, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Discover Weld County Partnership Agreement between the County of
Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on
behalf of the Public Information Officer, and The Tribune be and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 6th day of March, A.D., 2017.

Attached, and on the counter, is the Tribune's proposal for ad purchases in the 2017 Explore Weld Magazine (this is the
project we purchased ads in last year). At the work session last week, Bruce from the Tribune brought information
regarding distribution of these magazines as well as some analysis of the analytics from Google as to increased traffic to
our Discover Weld web site. While it is difficult for us to directly correlate the magazine with the increased traffic, I have
no doubt that much of increase in web traffic is due to the magazine (the only other promotion Discover Weld received
last year was a build -board campaign from the Health Department, and $500 in boosting the Facebook page over five
months which doesn't necessarily equate to more web traffic).
I have included the distribution list, analysis, and proposals for you to review in-depth if you would like.
Based on the work session, there was interest from the Board to continue this project another year, to purchase ad
space and have me work with the Tribune on the purchased pages again this year. There is money in my budget
($16,000 — same as last year) for this project. While this amount does not purchase us any additional promotion or
analytics as discussed (highlighted on the proposals) it does provide us with the same exposure and expectation as
last year. I would recommend purchasing the 8 pages of ads per magazine (16 pages total) for this Discover Weld
project.
Please let me know if you agree or disagree with this recommendation. The contract needs to be back to the Tribune
ASAP as the deadline for publication is only a few weeks away.

THE TRIBUNE agrees to provide the following:
• Eight pages to run in each edition of the Explore Weld County tourism magazine (16 total pages). The Greeley Tribune will
distribute 17,000 (min) total copies to Visitor Centers and Hotels/Conference Centers in Colorado.
• One 300x250 ad unit to be placed in Explore Weld County newsletter, sent to 25,000 travel enthusiasts in Colorado twice per year.
Email dates TBD.
• One Discover Weld County logo and web link to be placed in Explore Weld County newsletter, sent to 25,000 travel enthusiasts in
Colorado twice per year. Email dates TBD.
Discover Weld County website on folio on all left hand content pages in the Explore Weld magazine.
• Discover Weld County logo and short message to be included on two content pages in Explore Weld County (ie. Table of
Contents, Thank You Page, etc).
• Discover Weld County logo and web link featured on a minimum five pages on the Explore Weld County website.
• Welcome Page letter in Explore featuring content by any one of the five members of the Board of County Commissioners.
• Design services for all advertising placements in Explore Weld County or Explore Weld County newsletter.
• Reporting on results from Discover Weld County's sponsorship, which includes but is not limited to:
• Full email metrics for two newsletter campaigns, including opens, clicks and click through rate from logo and
display ad placement to Discover Weld County website.
Annual report of Explore Weld County webslte.metncs.
Anajysts of Discover Weld; County's website, done through,the Tribunes access of: Discover Weld's Google .,
Analytics.
In exchange, DISCOVER WEI-D COUNTY agrees to provide the following:
Input into the content, or actual content, for Explore Weld County, as needed by the Greeley Tribune. Content may be
communicated to Bruce Dennis and/or Kyle Knoop throughout the production process of the brochure. Content may be new,
original content presented to the Tribune, or already published content from discoverweld.com.
• Offer recommendations on final product, for both editions in 2017. based off proof of brochure. Feedback to be given within seven
days of initial proof delivery.
• Provide welcome letter text — if different from 2016 — and photo(s) from any one of the five members of the Board of County
Commissioners to be printed in both editions of Explore Weld County in 2017.
• Greeley Tribune access allowed to the to Discover Weld County's Google Analytics in order to conduct a full analysis of metrics
and results throughout the year.
• Logos to use in the publication or newsletter.
• Copy, photos or graphics for any ad placements in Explore, submitted in a timely manner to the Tribune.
