MONDAY, MARCH 13, 2017
WHEREAS, the Highland Cheer Team attended the CHSAA 2A State
Championship at the Denver Coliseum on December 9 and 10, 2016, and
WHEREAS, they competed against 18 other 2A cheer teams from across the
state, and
WHEREAS, the Highland Cheer Team earned a score of 71.7, coming in as first
place, and
WHEREAS, the Highland Cheer Team outscored the four -time defending champs
Cheyenne Wells High School, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is proud of the accomplishment
of the Highland Cheer Team and congratulates the team for being 2A state
champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado, that in recognition of the Highland Cheer Team, that
Monday, March 13, 2017, be known as Highland Huskies Day.
