RE: AUTHORIZE EXTENSION OF OIL AND GAS LEASE COVERING CERTAIN
PROPERTY OWNED BY WELD COUNTY, COLORADO - SE1/4, S26, T7N, R67W
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld County is the owner of vast mineral lands located in Weld County,
Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on October 16, 2017, the Board considered the request of Extraction Oil and
Gas, Inc., to extend the lease of 0.18 gross acres, 0.1305 net mineral acres, more or less,
described to -wit:
SE1/4 of Section 26, Township 7 North, Range 67
West of the 6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, at said meeting the Board deemed it advisable to continue the matter to
October 25, 2017, to allow staff adequate time to research the specific lease acreage and
extension amount, and
WHEREAS, after review, Weld County desires to approve the request submitted by
Extraction Oil and Gas, Inc., to extend the lease on the above -described mineral acreage for
$400.00 per net mineral acre, for a total sum of $52.20, which is to run for a period of six (6)
months, commencing at twelve o'clock noon on October 28, 2017, and ending at twelve o'clock
noon on April 28, 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the request submitted by Extraction Oil and Gas, Inc., to extend the lease
on the above -described mineral acreage for $400.00 per net mineral acre, for a total sum of
$52.20, which is to run for a period of six (6) months, commencing at twelve o'clock noon on
October 28, 2017, and ending at twelve o'clock noon on April 28, 2018, be, and hereby is, granted
and approved.

Pursuant to the terms of your oil and gas lease, dated 10/28/2014, between WELD COUNTY
COLORADO and Extraction Oil and Gas, Inc. ("Extraction"), as Lessee, or successor in interest to
Lessee, Extraction is hereby exercising the option to extend the primary term of your lease an additional 6
months, thru 4/27/2018 as allowed for by the language in your lease. Enclosed you will find Extraction's
check number 31085 in the amount of $52.20 as total consideration for the lease extension.
Please sign this letter below acknowledging receipt of this payment and complete the enclosed IRS W-9
or you may be subject to additional withholding at year-end. If your above listed mailing address is

Attached are two of the five extension payments received August 3, 2017. The two attached are not totaling properly on
my end. Can you please review and advise whether changes to the total amounts on the two payments being submitted
need to be changed?
Per my calculations, I find:
1. Check No. 028222:.18 (total mineral acres) X $400.00 (1/3 of the original bonus amount) = $72.00
2. Check No. 028223: 1.47 (total mineral acres) X $400.00 (1/3 of the original bonus amount) = $588.00

eighteen and a half percent (18.5%).
