please forward to commissioners for discussion
The following article is an indication that not enough is being done to help farmers stay in business. This is
exactly why we presented to the commissioners last week.
The commissioners are not doing enough to address the sale of water to other counties. If the commissioners
spent more time helping these farmers turn their farms into solar farms while temporarily leasing their water
until renewables produce energy, the county as a whole would be better for it. By making it hard for solar and
wind to get established, commissioners are shooting themselves in the foot.
If commissioners changed solar and wind to use by right, farmers would benefit and still be able to raise cattle
and farm around small renewable facilities, facilities that would not damage the air, water, and land or produce
CO2 and cause ozone like oil and gas production does. Perhaps now is a good time to suggest solar or wind
power to the farmers below who sold their water shares.
