4 t WHEREAS, Kevin Strobel began his public service in 1983 as a Deputy State
Public Defender with appointment to the Greeley Public Defender's Office, and

WHEREAS, on February 3, 1993, the Board of Commissioners appointed Kevin to
the Weld County Community Corrections Board, a nine (9) member board
representing all facets of our local criminal justice system and tasked to
determine which offenders may safely be placed in our community and in setting
standards by which our local provider must follow, and
WHEREAS, from February 3, 1993 to April 25, 2017, Kevin served with distinction
on the Community Corrections Board in various capacities, most notably as its
long-standing Chair, and
WHEREAS, since 1983, Kevin also advanced through the ranks promoting to
Chief Public Defender providing mentorship and guidance to those he supervised,
and expert legal representation for people who would not otherwise have
received representation in their cases, and
WHEREAS, Kevin is now set to retire as Chief Public Defender on June 30, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE KNOWN that the Board of Commissioners hereby
recognizes and proclaims its appreciation and gratitude to Kevin Strobel for his
34 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Weld County and the 19th Judicial
District. We wish Kevin the very best in retirement.' 'w ,
