The Weld County Board of Health met May 23, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. in the
Second Floor Hearing Room of the Weld County Department of Public Health
and Environment. Those present included:
Board Members: Jason Maxey, Chair; Jim Rohn, Linda Kautz, Tim
Annable, and Nicholas Berryman.
Others: Katie Sall, Environmental Health Services, (WCDPH&E);
Debbie Drew, Director of Public Health Education and Nursing,
(WCDPH&E); Faton Emami, RN, Communicable Disease
Coordinator,(WCDPH&E); Angie Crawford, Environmental Health
Specialist, (WCDPH&E); Kristeen Bevel Environmental Health
Specialist, (WCDPH&E); Lauren Light, Manager, Environmental
Health Services, (WCDPH&E).
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
A motion was made by Tim Annable to approve the agenda as presented.
Linda Kautz seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Jim Rohn to approve the April 25, 2017, minutes as
submitted. Tim Annable seconded the motion, and the motion was carried
unanimously.
BUSINESS
BIOSOLIDS NEW
A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approve Biosolids Application for
Veris Environmental Inc. D51700004 Nicholas Berryman seconded the
motion, and the motion was carried unanimously. There was no public
comment.
A motion was made by Jim Rohn to approve Biosolids Application for Veris
Environmental Inc. DS1700005. Nicholas Berryman seconded the motion, and
the motion was carried unanimously. There was no public comment.
A motion was made by Tim Annable to approve Biosolids Application for
Veris Environmental Inc. D51700008. Linda Kautz seconded the motion, and
the motion was carried unanimously. There was no public comment.
CONSENT ITEMS
A motion was made by Jim Rohn to approve Biosolids Applications for Veris
Environmental Inc. DS20D0220, D5200310, D5200625, D5200720, DS200828,
DS201106, DS201210, DS201316, and D5201401. City and County of Broomfield
DS990001, DS990002, DS990003, D5990004, DS990005, DS990006, DS990007,
DS990008, and DS990009. Nicholas Berryman seconded the motion, and the
motion was carried unanimously. There was no public comment.
PRESENTATIONS
Debbie Drew, Director of Public Health Education and Nursing, spoke about
the Well Womens Connect Program and shared they will be receiving more
funding. She spoke about The Family Planning Program. Kerri Dennison, RN
has set-up presentations to teens in high schools and provides some teen
pregnancy outreach clinics. She has also done presentations at
transitional housing about teen sexuality issues and pregnancy
prevention. Debbie also spoke about a Memo of Understanding (MOU)
partnership with Salud Clinic in Fort Lupton to hold clinics of our own
n to see teens. Debbie stated an in depth immunization presentation will

done in July.
Faton Emami, RN, Communicable Disease Coordinator, spoke about
communicable disease investigations and follow-up. Faton also does
immunization clinics. She does vaccine treatment for diseases and if
there is no case recorded she does enteric disease investigations.
Angie Crawford and Kristeen Bevel, Environmental Health Specialists spoke
about two domestic animals rabies cases within the last eight months.
Angie stated rabies have been in Colorado now for about 10 years. She
also said rabies in the skunk population has now spread along the front -
range in Colorado. Before rabies was found in mainly bats. Kristeen spoke
about the two cases, one that involved a feral cat and the other a dog.
A motion was made by Tim Annable to adjourn the meeting. Linda Kautz
seconded the motion, and the motion was carried unanimously.
