Subject: Proximity Door System Upgrade (Bid: B1700133)
As advertised, this bid is for installing a proximity door control system at various County buildings. The
bid documents included a consultant's hardware listing that was intended to aid bidders in determining
the needed hardware at 300+ doors of various types and locations.
After bids were received, it was discovered this listing was incorrectly interpreted regarding what type of
hardware was currently installed versus what type of hardware was should be installed as part of this
modification.
As a result, the bidders were inconsistent in the approach and did not include all required components in
their bids for this design -build turn -key installation. Therefore, Buildings & Grounds is recommending all
bid be rejected.
