RE: ADOPTION OF POLICY REGARDING BAD DEBTS INCURRED BY THE WELD
COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado desires to declare and implement the following policy
regarding bad debts incurred by the Weld County Ambulance Service,
to aid the Weld County bookkeeping system, and
WHEREAS , it has been recommended that said policy read as
follows :
"Bad debts incurred by the Weld County Ambulance Service will
be written off when any one of the following occurs :
1. When any account is classified by Professional Finance
as indigent, bankrupt or uncollectable.
2. When any account has been listed by Professional Fi-
nance without any payment in one year.
3. When any account listed by Professional Finance has
not been paid in full and has not had any payment with-
in twelve months.
When a bad debt is written off, Weld County does not waive
the right to continue to try to collect payment of said bad
debt. "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the above and foregoing
policy regarding bad debts incurred by the Weld County Ambulance
Service, be and hereby is, adopted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 24th day of
July, A.D. , 1978 .
