I am pleased to advise you that construction of the Eaton Community Center is progressing well and
on schedule. The District anticipates that the Community Center will be open to the public this summer. If
you or any of the Weld County Commissioners would like to visit the Community Center during the con-
struction, please know that you have an open invitation. I would be glad to arrange it.
As you can imagine, like all large public construction projects, funding has been a challenge and the
District has worked hard to obtain grants to assist the process. At this time, the District would like to apply
for Conservation Trust Funds and Great Outdoors Colorado Funds. The funds would be used to develop the
outside ball fields and
The District's Service Plan provides that the District obtain consent from Weld County to apply for
such funds and that such consent be in the form of an intergovernmental agreement or as otherwise allowable.
I understand that a letter from the County Commissioners to the District consenting to the District's applica-
tion for such funds would be sufficient to satisfy the Service Plan.
With that, the District is respectfully asking that the Weld County Commissioners approve the Dis-
trict's request to apply for Conservation Trust Funds and Great Outdoors Colorado Funds. If any additional
information is needed, please let me know.

Dear Nina,
This is in response to your January 23, 2017, request for the Board of Weld County Commissioners to allow the Eaton
Area Park and Recreation District to apply for Conservation Trust Funds and Great Outdoors Colorado Funds per the
District Services Plan. The request has been reviewed by county staff and they do not see any problem with the Board of
Weld County Commissioners granting such a request in accordance with the District's Services Plan.
Therefore, please consider this letter formal approval for the Eaton Area Park and Recreation District to apply for
Conservation Trust Funds and Great Outdoors Colorado Funds in accordance with the Eaton Area Park and Recreation
District Services Plan requirements.
