Phillips RFD Briggsdale, CO 80611 June 25, 1979 TO THE WELD COUNTY CO MISS I,:%NERS: There is no way that I can enjoy or use my property if Bob Thomas does not reseed the areas surrounding my place. Saturday we had a cyclonic flow of air proceeding a thunder storm, common in that part of the county, for 45 minutes the areas plowed were one giant dust cloud reaching into the heavens . In 45 minutes the window sills and floor of my house, recently renovated, were covered with 1/4th inch of dirtl Everyt.ing in the house was covered. It was an incredible mess. I cannot live with this destruction. To add to the burden are the tractors going 24 hours a day, seven days a week without stopping more than 20 minutes at a time. That noise has a decibel level no human being can tolerate . The grinding of gears is like fingernails scratching a blackboard multiplied. At Keota the echo problem compounds the noise so I get it twice with magnitudes and intensity intolerable. After a week of this, Friday night I called the p ,lice who came out twice and stopped the tractors south of my place. I was ready to scream and to murder to stop it. I could not tolerate the noise any longer. The insensitivity of Hob Thomas to those who live out there is in itself a crime. He maintains we should of t'iought of this and bought up the land. Does he realize people out there have priorites exclusive of ffen Million in the bank which he has? We love the land he has destroyed. He doesn' t live there . I urge the commissioners to add to the dust problem the noise level. Around my place I will not tolerate night tractor use, week end use, and no tractor will begin until 8 a.m. and must cease at 4 p.m. And one tractor is all that can be used within a 4 mile area. My property is now surround by flowed fields to the north: two miles of plowed area by 4 miles . And further west, six miles by 5 miles of plowed area. To the_ st3Yzth, five miles by 4 miles plowed area. Since the •p .evailing westerlies operate in that area in the winter and the prevailing southerlies in the summer I am going to be in dust and dirt every day. The Gerald Kummers are in the same dust bowl and are as- angr,. as I am over this incredible act of Bob Thomas . .f • 790752 G: 1 ,. . Hello
