Dear Mr. Billings;
I would like to thank Weld County and specifically the Board of County
Commissioners for granting us the permission to use the Weld County
Historical Site for the 1975 annual training encampment.
This facility offered an entirely different environment for our unit
activities and operational capabilities for the radar equipment. The
geographical location also provided us with an unobstructed coverage
of our designated airspace for aircraft control and mission exercises.
The close proximity of the site to our regular garrison quarters was
probably the greatest savings to the National Guard in monetary cost.
The single greatest expense was the movement of personnel and equip-
ment, however, during the 1975 training period, cost to the unit was
far less than any other time in its history for a deployed camp.
The cooperation of your staff, specifically; Mr. Loyal Warner, Mr.
Richard Straub and Mr. Bob Ehrlich in their assistance for initial
preparations of the site for our occupancy was outstanding.
