SUBJECT: Lube Truck - #61700011
We have reviewed the bids for the lube truck. Staff recommendation is to go with 3rd low bid,
MHC Kenworth for $156,795.00.
The first two bids have bid a Freightliner M2-106. This is the current truck we have with the
shops for the service truck. Our current truck is in need of a new turbo and at the current time we
cannot get the part.
Low bid is a vendor we have not done business with before. The lube body would be through a
company out of Charlotte, NC and it is uncertain where service for the lube body would have to be
done. We called a company that is using this truck and they reference was not positive.
The difference between low bid and 3rd is $6,151, 4%. Service cost with having to take the truck
to Commerce City is more than going to pay over the life of the truck.
