RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE RESCHEDULED
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 13 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS
34 AND 36 FOR APPROXIMATELY SEVEN (7) WEEKS, FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days
for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road
closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative
routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, on April 3, 2017, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and
personal investigations, the Board determined that conditions exist which made it necessary to
temporarily close said County Roads to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular
traffic by posting signs thereon, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has requested the closure be rescheduled,
effective February 27, 2017, to April 14, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County
roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic
control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal
Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 13, between County Roads 34 and 36,
be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective February 27, 2017, for approximately
seven (7) weeks for road construction, and further, that standard official traffic control devices
shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 10th day of April, A.D., 2017, nunc pro tunc February 27, 2017.

Listed below are re -scheduled road closures:
WCR 44 between Hwy 85 and WCR 39 to be closed from 4/12/2017 to 5/2/2017 to replace culvert and
road construction.
WCR 36 between WCR 13 and WCR 15 to be closed from 4/10/2017 to 4/13/2017 to replace a culvert.
WCR 39 between WCR 40 and WCR 44 to be closed from 4/3/2017 to 4/12/2017 to replace two culverts
and re -deck Bridge 39/40A.
WCR 69 between Hwy 34 and WCR 380 to be closed from 4/12/2017 to 5/3/2017 to replace a culvert and
bridge repair.
WCR 13 between WCR 34 and WCR 36 to be closed from 2/27/2017 to 4/14/2017 for various closures
through road construction.
