RE: Weld County Department of Human Services' Child Welfare
Compass Program Vendors and Rates
Please review and indicate if you would like a work session prior to placing this item on the
Board's agenda.
Request Board Approval of the Department's Child Welfare Compass Program Partners
and Rates. The Compass Program is a CORE funded program within the Department of Human
Services Child Welfare Prevention Services Unit that partners with local community agencies,
including the school district, community mental health, public health, and faith -based entities.
The program focuses on keeping children at home, in a safe, stable and nurturing family
environment; improving parenting capacity and family functioning; improving children's well-
being; and preventing families from re-entering the child protection or juvenile justice system,
thus preventing unnecessary out -of -home placement.
The document (attached) reflects the partners who have agreed to provide services during the
coming program year and their rates for the full year. We are currently reviewing our Prevention
Unit, and once partners and rates have been approved by the Board, we will enter into
agreements with them. Agreements will be effective June 1, 2017, and funded through Core
Services.
I do not recommend a Work Session. I recommend approval of Compass Providers and Rates.
