RE: APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO ADMINISTRATIVE CODE CONCERNING
COMPENSATORY TIME.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Colorado Statutes require that a normal work week
for State, County and Municipal employees is 40 hours and further
that any time an employee is required to work over said 40 hours
will be considered as overtime and will be paid back to the
employee on a one and one-half (11) time basis either in dollars
or in compensatory time off, and
WHEREAS, Weld County Government uses only the compensatory
time off method, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Personnel Department has recommended
that the Administrative Code be amended to reflect the following
changes concerning compensatory time :
1. All overtime will be approved in writing by the Depart-
ment Head in advance of use.
2. A permanent record of the approved overtime will be kept
in each department. Overtime may not exceed 40 hours
per employee.
3. All time worked over forty (40) hours by an employee will
be made a record of and maintained in each department
on a daily basis .
4 . Each month overtime for each employee will be recorded
on the computer printout manning document and submitted
to the Personnel Department.
5. High use of overtime by a department will be reported
to the Board of County Commissioners by the Personnel
Department.
6. Comp time earned will be used within ninety days of
earning. All comp time not used at that point will be
cancelled.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advis-
able and in the best interests of Weld County to approve the afore-
mentioned amendment to the Administrative Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the amendment to the
Administrative Code, as stated above, concerning compensatory
time off be, and hereby is , approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 14th day of
February, A.D. , 1979.
