HomeMy WebLinkAbout20172569.tiffRESOLUTION RE: EXTENSION OF REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF COUNTY ROAD 69 BETWEEN COUNTY ROADS 74 AND 80 FOR AN ADDITIONAL EIGHT (8) DAYS, FOR UNANTICIPATED DELAYS DUE TO CONTRACTOR REQUESTING ADDITIONAL TIME WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-106(6)(a), C.R.S.: "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close said County Roads to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that County Road 69, between County Roads 74 and 80, be extended, with said extended closure being effective July 21, 2017, for an additional eight (8) days through July 28, 2017, for unanticipated delays due to the contractor requesting additional time, and further, that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions. cc , 5o c RS), O Co S+o.te PAtco� g/ico/11 2017-2569 EG0024 TEMPORARY CLOSURE - COUNTY ROAD 69 PAGE 2 The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 24th day of July, A.D., 2017, nunc pro tunc July 21, 2017.
