SUBJECT: Fill Sand Bid, B1700027
The Public Works Department recommend the Fill Sand be awarded to J-2 Contracting Company at a price of
$4.45fTon. Pine Bluffs Gravel & Excavating was the lowest bidder per ton, but when the per ton hauling cost is
added in, it is no longer the lowest bid.
If J-2 Contracting is unable to provide the required amount of fill sand needed, we would need to purchase the
fill sand from Varra Companies at a price of $4.50 per ton so that our projects are not adversely affected.
