RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION AMENDING COUNCIL POLICY NO. 1.1 OF RESOLUTION C.D. NO.
2016-159 REGARDING APPOINTMENT OF CITY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES TO
VARIOUS BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR 2016 AND 2017 TO CHANGE THE
REPRESENTATION ON THE DENVER REGIONAL COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO MAYOR WILLIAMS AND THE REPRESENTATION ON
THE i-25 COALITION TO COUNCILMEMBER JAN KULMANN AS THE
REPRESENTATIVE AND MAYOR WILLIAMS AS THE ALTERNATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Thornton participates in a variety of Denver metropolitan
Boards and Commissions through its City Council representatives; and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines which City Council members will
represent the City on those boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, the City of Thornton consolidated the Council Policies into one
document in 2015 by C.D. No. 2015-188; and
WHEREAS, Resolution C.D. No. 2016-211 amended Council Policy 1.1 and
appointed City Council representatives to the outside boards and commissions for 2016
and 2017; and
WHEREAS, Resolution C.D. 2016-159 amended Council Policy 1.1 on
September 13, 2016 changing the representation for the School District 27J Foundation
from Councilmember Phillips to Councilmember Zygielbaum; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to change the representation for the Denver
Regional Council of Governments Board of Directors from Councilmember Matkowsky
to Mayor Williams.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF THORNTON, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
That Council Policy 1.1 adopted Resolution 2016-159 is hereby amended and
approves the appointment of Mayor Williams to the Denver Regional Council of
Governments Board of Directors for 2016 and 2017.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Thornton, Colorado, on December 20, 2016 .

Appointing City Council Representatives to Outside Boards and Commissions
Policy Number: 1.1
Legislative History: CD 2014-071 and CD 2015-016 appointments for 2014 and 2015.
CD 2015-211 appointments for 2016-2017. CD 2016-159 changed the appointment to
the School District 27-J Capital Facilities Foundation.
1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to identify the City Council members who will represent
the City on various outside Boards and Commissions for a two-year period.
