SUBJECT: 2017 Cattle Guard Bid, 81700053
The Public Works Department recommends the low bidder, Big R Manufacturing, be awarded the bid for
complete cattle guards (16'x7'9") with concrete foundations at a cost of $5,469.00 each or a total of $21,876.00
for four.
We further recommend that the low bid from DBE Manufacturing be awarded for 12 ft lengths of crossbar at a
price of $37.68 each and 3-1/2" x 1" pipe sleeves at a cost of $9.89 each needed for repairs. These items will
be ordered from the vendor when needed.
There is $23,478.00 budgeted for the purchase of complete cattle guards. The crossbars and pipe sleeves are
maintenance items without a specific budgeted amount.
