S' OF SECTION 32, TOWNSHIP 6 NORTH, RANGE 65 WEST
FROM THE GREAT WESTERN SUGAR COMPANY:
WHEREAS, The Great Western Sugar Company has
offered a tract of land to Weld County, Colorado, being
more particularly described as follows:
A tract of land located in the South Half (S')
of Section 32, Township 6 North, Range 65 West
of the 6th Principal Meridian in Weld County,
Colorado, more specifically described as follows:
Beginning at the center of said Section 32 and
considering the East line of the Southwest Quarter
(SW1) of said Section 32 to bear South 00°13 ' 20"
West with all other bearings used herein relative
thereto;
Thence South 00°13 ' 20" West 1, 329. 59 feet to the
True Point of Beginning;
Thence North 84°05' 46" West 6.61 feet;
Thence North 01°08 ' 52" West 226.32 feet;
Thence along the arc of a curve to the left having
a chord bearing North 29°42' 25" West a distance of
321. 26 feet; said arc having a radius of 336. 00 feet;
Thence North 58°15' 57" West 44.73 feet;
Thence North 05°50' 28" East 66.70 feet;
Thence South 58°15 ' 57" East 73 . 86 feet;
Thence along the arc of a curve to the right having
a radius of 396. 00 feet and a chord bearing South
29°42' 24" East for a distance of 378 . 60 feet;
Thence South 01°08 ' 52" East 233 . 67 feet;
Thence North 84°05 ' 46" West 13. 84 feet;
Thence North 00°.13 ' 20" East 40.20 feet;

Point of Beginning.
The above described tract contains 0 . 846 acre, more
or less, and consists of a 60 foot wide right-of-way
for new county road as it now exists, and shown on
Recorded map or plat as Tract #6.

WHEREAS, this parcel could be of beneficial use to
District #1 of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board feels it to be in the best
interests of the County to accept said parcel of land.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of
County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that it does
hereby accept said parcel of land described above from
The Great Western Sugar Company.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion
duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote this
24th day of December, 1975.

Dear Mr. Monroe:
This letter is in reference to the agreement between Weld County, Monfort
of Colorado, Malcolm Anderson, John C. Todd and officials of Great Western
Sugar Company concerning the realignment of a roadway in Weld County's
District I ]mown as Sixth Avenue which eliminated a major traffic hazard.
The agreement also included correcting a drainage and irrigation problem
involving Great Western Sugar Company land adjacent to the roadway.
Weld County is not in the position of solving major irrigation and drainage
problems for one individual or company. We solved that problem only because it
was a cooperative agreement to corntct a road situation which was a major
traffic hazard. Now I understand from County Engineer Richard Straub that
Great Western is being totally uncooperative and has reneged on its prior
agreement. I understand at this point that you are now requiring $3,000
per acre for the land which was part of the original agreement.
Weld County has no intention of reimbursing Great Western in any amount and
would hope that you, as an official of Great Western, would cooperate with all
other parties involved in clearing title to the land involved in the agreement.
If Great Western insists upon charging the $3,000 per acre figure for land
totalling 1.41 acres, then Weld County can arrange to bill Great Western for
construction which was done on the seep ditch and drainage tiles. I can assure
you that the cost figures of the construction would far exceed the figure you
would gain by charging Weld County for the land.
I do hope that the agreement can be completed without further delay. Your
immediate attention to this letter is requested.

I have been in contact with Mr . Robert B . Monroe , Vice-
President of Great Western Sugar Company , in Denver ,
Colorado concerhing the realignment of 6th avenue
adjacent to the Monfort hide plant .
We are asking Great Western Sugar Company to deed
three small parcels of land, one to John Todd , one
to Monfort , and one to Weld County .
Mr. Monroe has stated that he would be willing to donate
tract 6 containing . 846 acres to Weld County for road
purposes „ but he would require $3000 an acre for de-
dicating land to Todd and to Monfort . The Todd parcel
and the Monfort parcel amount to approximately 1 . 41
acres of land.
I explained to Mr. Monroe that this road was straightened
to eliminate a very dangerous curve and that all parties
were donating the land to eliminate this dangerous con-
dition . I also informed Mr . Monroe that no money was
budgeted for purchase or transfer of land. .
Mr. Monroe was very firm in his requirement that $3000
an acre be paid to Great Western for the Todd and Monfort
tracts of land.
I fee] that the County Attorney should enter the nego-
tiation at this point with Great Western .

Dear John,
I received your letter regarding the fence we had discussed;
it should be up within the next two or three weeks. My road
foreman and I were in that area recently discussing the fence.
A crew had started to put the fence up but Malcolm Anderson
differed with how it was being put up so work was halted. My
plans are still to follow the seep ditch about eight feet away
from it, going north and hooking onto the existing pasture fence.
If I may be of further information, please do not hesitate to
contact me. I regret that you had to write the letter but due
to circumstances work had to be halted temporarily.
