Dear Mr. Halter,
Weld County is in full support of Greeley's East St" Street improvements project. East 8"'Street is
necessary to reconstruct because this road is an important east/west oil and gas haul route,as well as
a vital economic feeder to the region. Weld County is committed to paying our proportional share of
the costs for the mill and overlay within our jurisdiction.
Your funding of this project will allow our agencies to further a joint intersection project at Cherry
Avenue (WCR 43), which is also a major north/south collector road for the county. All of these
improvements are very important transportation links on the east side of our county,which also
serves the U.S. Air National Guard and the Greeley/Weld County Airport.
In addition,this project exemplifies cooperative collaboration between Weld County and the City of
Greeley in order to improve the general health, safety, and welfare of our communities. We are
extremely pleased to work with Greeley and hope you will look favorably upon their application.
