Dear Class Member:
I am writing to you in my capacity as lead counsel for the Class of royalty owners in the
above -referenced case. As you know, my office previously mailed a check to you for your
proportionate share of the BP class action judgment amount.
When the Patterson v. BP America Production Company class action litigation was
concluded in September 2015, there were many of the four thousand Class members whom my
office was unable to locate. During the course of the last three years, however, Wendy Bado of
my office has been engaged in a diligent effort to locate as many Class members, or their heirs, as
possible. Through that effort, my office has been able to locate hundreds of Class members, or
their heirs, and to pay them their proportionate share of the BP class action judgment amount.
As expected, there is still a small percentage of the Class members whom my office has
not been able to locate despite very diligent efforts to do so. Accordingly, my office is now paying
out such Class members' proportionate share of the BP class action judgment amount to the Class
members for whom we have good addresses, and to whom my office has previously sent a check
for their share of the BP class action judgment amount.
I am therefore enclosing a check made payable to you for your supplemental share of the
BP class action judgment amount.
