STATE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT WORK
BY COUNTY FORCES.
1. This AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 21st day of January, A. D. 1929, by and
between the State of Colorado, acting by the State Highway Engineer, hereinafter called the
State, and the County of Weld, Colorado, acting by the Chairman of its Board of County Com-
missioners, hereinafter called the County.
2 WITTTESSITH: That the said County, under and by virtue of this agreement, is hereby
authorized to proceed upon the following terms to improve, repair, and reconstruct portions of
State Highway No. 14, in Weld County, between Buckingham East and West, Colorado, at
such points as shall be mutually agreed upon by the representatives of the State Highway
Department and the Board of County Commissioners, and designated as State Project No 579-B.
If, at the time of the execution of this 4greement, the definite points for the application
of the work shall have been selected, they are designated as follows:

• The County agrees to furnish all labor, teams, tractors, trucks, and road building
equipment and material, at the following prices:
60 Best Tractors with equipment 435.00 per day
30 Best Tractors with equipment 30.00 " "
Foreman 6.00 "
Checker 4.00 " "
Laborer 4.00 "
Teamster 3.00 " II
(Each horse) 1.50 " 4,Surfacing, Hauling .20 per yd. Mi.

4. It is expressly understood that "tractors with equipment" include gas, oil, grease,
repairs, and all necessary labor for their operation, and that the above rates include also
the use of all common harness, grading and small tools , camp equipment, supply of labor, and
such incidentals as are necessary for the reasonable, economical, and efficient prosecution
of the work. No expenditure of funds under this agreement shall be made for the purchase of
machinery or equipment.
5 . It is understood that the County will make purchases of material for construction,
such as drain pipes , cement, lumber, surfacing material, additional right of way, etc . , as
may be necessary for the work hereinabove described, as directed by the Engineer in charge
and upon his order, and that reimbursement will be made for same at actual cost, in the manner
hereinafter provided.
6. It is understood that the work is to be under the direction of a general road super-
visor, on behalf of the County, whose salary is not to be included in the reimbursement by the
State, who is to give the work the same attention and direction that is ordinarily given by
a contractor to any job he has contracted.
7 . Labor, time and quantities are to be kept by a checker furnished by the State highway
Department .
8. It is understood that this work shall be vigorously prosecuted and every effort
made to complete the same during the field season of 1929.
9. It is further understood that the w rk is to be supervised, on behalf of the State,
by an Engineer from the State Highway Department, and that it will be prosecuted according to
the plans which he outlines . The Engineer is to give the work the attention and supervision
usually required of an Engineer in charge of a Construction contract.
10. The County shall be paid 50 per cent on monthly statements certified by the
Engineer in charge, until the total amount of payments by the State on this project, including
such payments as it may make direct, shall equal Four Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Five ($4245.00)
11. It is further understood that the allotment for this work from State 11ighway Funds
is Four Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($4245.00 ) , to be met by a like amount of
Four Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ( $4245.00) from County funds, and that the total
expenditure on this work by the State Highway Department, including engineering and inspection,
is limited to the amount of Dollars

P92-IN THE MATTER OF MEMORANDUM OF
AGREEMENT FOR THE HIRE OF COUNTY
TRACTORS. r ,- /

WHEREAS: The State Highway Department is undertaking the immediate Oil Surfacing
of approximately seventeen miles of roadway on State Road #3, from the Colorado Wyoming
State Line South, in Weld County, and
WHEREAS: It is necessary for the said State Highway Department to rent a certain
portion of the equipment demanded by these operations, and Weld County being the owner of
such equipment, the State Highway Department respectfully requests the Weld County Commission-
ers to render cooperation in the construction of this road by supplying the State Department
• with four 30 H.P. Caterpillar engines with eight foot blades, together with the necessary
attendants , and one one-man maintenance outfit, on the following terms and conditions:
To Wit: The State agrees to pay to the County the sum of $30.00 per 8 hour
working day or $3.75 per hour, for each 30 H.P. engine and blade, and $20.00 per 8 hour
working day or $2.50 per hour for single man outfit. It is understood and agreed that the
above charges cover all costs to the State for theuse of the above equipment. Should
the County so elect the State will furnish the necessary gasoline and lubricating oil
for county equipment of similar character and quality used in its own equipment engaged
on the same work, at tank wagon prices, deducting the cost of these supplies from the
rental bill.
It is further understood that ')istrict #1 shall contribute two tractors to this
agreement; District #2, _ tractors; District #3, Two tractors; and that the five
engines with its complement of four blades will report at the Colorado-Wyoming State Line
ready for duty the morning of May 2nd, 1929.
It is further agreed that the State Highway Department will employ a night
watchman to protect against depredations all equipment employed on this work.

THIS CONTRACT made and entered into this 3rd day of May 1929 between NAGLE LUMBER
COMPANY, hereinafter called the party of the first part, and the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
WELD COUNTY, hereinafter called party of the second part.
Party of the first part does hereby agree to reshingle all the main roof of the
City of Greeley Hospital that is now covered with wood shingles , which will approximate
160 squares, with ETERNIT Gray Asbestos Shingles, size 12" x 24" . Two inch needle pointed
galvanized nails and copper storm clips will be used to secure the shingles to the roof.
That part of the roof which oovers the sleeping porch, and now covered with roll roofing
is to be covered with Beckman and Dawson' s Winthrop Tapered Asphalt Shingles securely nailed.
All of the main hips and ridges are to have a ridge pole of 2" by 2" lumber and then are
to be covered with ETERNIT Asbestos Ridge Roll. All main valleys are to be filled with a
heavy galvanized valley not less than twenty inches in width and like sample submitted. A
x 4 tapered siding strip is to be used beneath the first course and is to extend entirely
around the roof. The flashing used shall be of the same quality as the valley and shall be
calked with plastic cement. All work is to be done in a workman like manner and the job
will be open to inspection at any time, by party of the second part.

City Irrigation District has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County
requesting the Board of County Commissioners to direct the County Treasurer to cancel all
kk existing taxes which have been heretofore levied against the above described lard for the
purposes of this District, and to cancel and redeem all existing tax sales against said
lands for irrigation district taxes;
AND VJITEREAS, said certificate shows that more than thirty days prior thereto
said land was excluded from said irrigation district at a regular quarterly meeting of the
Board of said district held on the second day of April, 1929 , and that no protest against
said exclusion was filed within thirty days after the adoption of said exclusion order
and resolution;
THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED, That the County Treasurer is directed to cancel all
existing taxes which have heretofore been levied against said land for the purposes of said
irrigation district, and to cancel and redeem all existing tax sales against said land, in
so far as they are for irrigation district purposes .

& Parts Company the above named articles for the sum of $6682.50 payable to the said Liberty
Trucks & Parts Company, or its assignee as follows:

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to evidence the said amounts payable, the Chairman
of the Board, with the attestation of the Clerk, shall be and is hereby authorized to execute

cate or certificates evidencing the above transaction and the agreement of the County to pay

THIS AGREEMENT Made and entered into this 22nd day of April, A. D. , 1929 , by
and between Ada Cartwright and Margaret Joy Keyes of Weld County, Colorado, parties of the
first part, and the County of Weld and State of Colorado, a municipality, party of the second
part, WITNESSETH:
That the parties of the first part for and consideration of 3227 .25 to them
in hand paid by the party of the second part do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the party
of the second part, its successors and assigns, the right to remove all gravel, sand and
road-making and building material which it shall be able to remove from the following
described lands, to-wit:
Commencing at a point which is 337 feet West of the North-
west corner of the house located on the Northwest Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of Section six ( 6) , Township five (5 ) North,
of Range Sixty-four (64) , West of the Sixth P.M. , in Weld County,
Colorado, thence, South 480 feet, thence West 325 feet, thence North 334
feet, to a point, thence along the line of Lone Tree Creek to the point
of beginning, containing 3 .03 acres, more or less.
Weld County, as a further consideration of this Deed and by
acceptance thereof, agrees that said tract of land shall be excluded from further
assessments for taxes; the first parties hereby granting to the party of the second
part, the right to enter upon said last de-scribed portion of land at any time hereafter and .
to excavate and remove therefrom, all gravel, sand and earthen material which it shall
find suitable to its needs, together with the rights and privileges incident to the
proper enjoyment thereof.
This instrument shall give no title to said land, only the right
to remove therefrom a part of the surface above set forth. It shall be binding and inure
to the heirs , administrators and assigns of first parties and successors and assigns of the
second party.

A petition signed by A. E. Spall and numerous others praying for the laying out of
a public road described as follows , to-wit:
Commencing at Cornish Postoffice and running South three miles
and from that point due East to join a stretch of two miles graded
highway at the West Corners of Sections 18 and 19, Township 6
Range 61 West then to continue two miles due East of the graded
stretch mentioned abobe and terminating at the Southeast corner
of Section 15, Township 6, Range 61, site of the Homestead School-
house. From this point it is desired to have a grade built North
for three miles to the Northwest corner of ;'ection 2 , Township 6
A Range 61 at which point the grade will join the East-West County
Highway from Cornish The petition pleads for the grading of
sixteen miles of County road, said road for the greater part
being a mail route, and leading into important farm territory
which has no outlet toward Cornish or Greeley. For twenty years
the farmers adjacent to the road desired laid out have under-gone
considerable hardship both summer and winter in reaching markets
and trade centers .

WHEREAS, Sarah Gilbert has presented her petition to The Board of Directors of
The Box Elder Drainage District for the inclusion of lands hereinafter described in the
boundaries of The Box Elder Drainage District, and,
WHEREAS, The Board of Directors of said •drainage District has classified the
lands petitioned to be included within said district by Resolution passed by The Board
of Directors at an adjourned regular meeting held by said Board of Directors on the
18th day of May, A. D. , 1929 , and,
WHEREAS, said Board of Directors of the Box Elder Drainage District have authorized
the inclusion of said lands within the boundaries of said district by Resolution passed
by said Board of Directors at an adjourned regular meeting held by said Board of Directors
on the 18th day of May, A. D. , 1929 , which is as follows :

WHEREAS, Sarah Gilbert has presented her petition for
the inclusion of certain lands hereinafter described in The Box Elder
Drainage District, and,
WHEREAS, Said lands are contiguous to the existing boundaries
of The Box Elder Drainage District as they now exist, and,
WEEREAS, Said lands are agricultural lands and have become
and are now saturated with waste , seepage and spring water to such
an extent that said lands are not at present cultivable or fully so,
for the raising of agricultural crops thereon, and,
WHEREAS , Said lands are capable of being drained by the
drainage system of The Box Elder Drainage District, and in the opinion
of The Board will be made more productive as a result of said drainage
system, and,
WHEREAS, This board has made a classification of said lands
upon a graduated scale as provided by law and has determined that the
amount equal to all past due assessments on said lands is $179 .08, and
said amount has been paid to The Box Elder Drainage District by the
petitioner, Sarah Gilbert,
Now Therefore , It is hereby ordered by the Board that the
prayer of said petitioner be allowed and granted, and the lands described
in said petition, more particularly described as follows, to-wit: The
South half of the Southeast quarter of Section 27 , containing eighty
acres, more or less, all that -part of the Sout -We•.et quarter and the
Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 27 , lying North
and East of the Gilmore Canal, containing 80 acres, more or less , be
included in and made a part of The Box Elder Drainage District, and
Board of County Commissioners are hereby authorized to enter an Order
of Inclusion of said lands in said district and thereupon said lands
shall become liable for all future assessments which may become due
or be levied for drainage purposes within said drainage District.

hereby included in The Box Elder Drainage District to the same intent and purpose

THIS AGREEMENT, Made and entered into this 17th day of June , A. D. , 1929 by and
between The Colorado State Teachers College, party of the first part, and Weld County,
party of the second part , WITEESSETH:
WHEREAS, the party of the second part has established and is conducting a training
school for nurses in the hospital known as The Greeley Hospital, in greeley, Colorado, consist-
ing of class room work for the training in the science of nursing anc_ practical experience
in the care of the sick in wards and rooms of said hospital, and,
WHEREAS, The party of the first part has placed in charge of its department, as
aforesaid, Head of Department of Nursing Education, who, under the direction of party of
the first part, has charge of the training of said student teachers, and,
WHEREAS, The parties hereto consider that it will be for the mutual benefit of
both parties to co-operate and render mutual assistance to each other in the following
respects, to-wit:
The said department for teachers training will receive benefits by practice training
in the school for student nurses, and the student nurses attending the nurses' school will
receive more efficient training by having the supervision and training conducted by said
department of student teachers.
NOW TWEREFORE, In Consideration of the mutual promises , convenants and conditions
hereinafter set forth, the - parties hereto have agreed and by these presents do agree as
follows , towit:
1. That the said Head of Department of Nursing Education shall occupy and hold the
position of Superintendant of Nurses of the Greeley Hospital
2. The Superintendent of nurses shall have full charge of and shall conduct the
school of .student nurses at The Greeley Hospital and at Colorado State Teachers College, and
said Superintendent of nurses shall have full authority to designate the course of study,
manner and methods of teaching and discipline of the student nurses while attending classes
in said school.
3. The admission of student nurses, the entrance requirements thereof and the number
of student nurses admitted to the hospital anc class rooms shall be under the control of the
Superintendent of the hospital.
4. The Superintendent of nurses shall be in daily attendance at the hospital and
shall give immediate , direct and personal supervision to the nursing of all patients in said
hospital except that said Superintendent of nurses shall be permitted a vacation of not more
than one month during any one year.
5. The Superintendent of Nurses shall conduct courses in dietetics , anatomy and
or such subjects at the Teachers College as may be deemed advisable . Student Nurses regularly
enrolled as such may elect to take any regular courses of study at the Teachers College and
student Nurses so enrolled shall not be charged tuition for either elective or regularly pre-
scribed courses of study.
6. The Superintendent of the hospital shall have the right to adopt rules and
regulations for the conduct of said hospital and for the care and treatment of patients in
wards and rooms therein, which rules and regulations shall be observed by the Superintendent
of nurses and all student teachers and student nurses, and in case of any dispute or disagree-
ment as to the meaning or interpretation of said rules and regulations, the decision of the
Superintendent of the hospital shall control and be final.
7. The general management of the hospital shall be and remain in the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld County and this contract shall not be deemed to be a waiver
of any right of control over or of determination and establishment of matters of general
policy in the management or conduct of said hospital by said Board of County Commissioners.
8. It is agreed that the term of this contract shall commence and be in force for
a period of one year from October First, 1929 , and from year to year thereafter, but either
party to this contract may terminate same at the end of any year by giving the other party
sixty days notice in writing, of its intention so to do, prior to the end of such year, and
upon such determination, all rights herein vested in either party shall cease.
9 . It is agreed between the parties hereto that the party of the first part shall
select and employ, with the approval of the party of the second part, the Head of Department
of Nursing Educator, who shall receive such salary as shall be agreed upon the the parties
• hereto and party of the second party agrees to pay one half of said salary for services as
Superintendent of Nurses--provided that one half of salary shall not exceed the sum of$ .

day and year first above written.

Clark that a license be granted to The Colorado Wyoming Gas Company to Construct maintain
and use a pipe line to be constructed according to contract to be executed as of this
date by the Colorado Wyoming Gas Company and the Board of County Commissioners of this County,
a copy of which contract is as follows, to-wit:

AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT, Made and entered into this 2nd day of August 1929, by and
between COLORADO=WYOMING GAS COMPANY, a corporation organized and existing under and by
virtue of the laws of the State of Delaware, of the first part, and THE BOARD OP COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF WELD COUNTY, COLORADO, of the second part, WITNESSETH: That
WHEREAS, The party of the first part is about to construct a pipe line
from a point in Larimer County about one mile south of the City of Loveland, Colorado,
thence in an easterly direction to the County Line of Larimer and Weld Counties, thence east
to the Town of Evans, in Weld County, Colorado, thence in a general northerly direction to
the City of Greeley, in Weld County, Colorado; and
WHEREAS, According to the plans and specifications under which said construction
is to be made, the party of the first part desires to lay said pipe line in, under and along
and across certain county highways and bridges in the County of Weld; and
WHEREAS, The party of the second part is willing to permit the use of said
highways for said pipe line, subject to certain terms and conditions as hereinafter set
forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, In consideration of the premises and of the covenants and
conditions to be by the party of the first part kept and performed as hereinafter set forth,
the party of the second part does hereby grant unto the party of the first part, a license
to lay, construct and maintain a pipe line in, under and along each and every county high-
way and bridge crossed or intersected by said pipe line in Weld County,. Colorado, as the
same appears upon the map or plat attached hereto, made a part hereof by reference and
marked Exhibit 'A*, the route dr line of said p$pe line appearing in red thereon.
As consideration of the grant of the aforesaid license, party of the first
part agrees that said pipe line shall be buried at least three (3) feet below the surface
of said roads.
The party of the first part further agrees that at any time hereafter the
grade of any highway or bridge burdened with said pipe line is changed, it will change
and relay said pipe line at its own expense to the depth and distance aforesaid. That it
will at all times maintain said pipe line and repair all leaks and damages at its own expense;
and further, that if, by reason of any leak or damage to the pipe line, damage to the road
or any bridge is sustained, party of the first part will repair and replace the road and
bridges in the same condition that the road and bridges were in prior to said leak or break.
If at any time any county highway shall be established and constructed, or if
at any time any present county highway shall be hereafter widened and such highways shall be
affected by said pipe line, then and in such event the party of the first part agrees to
relay and reconstruct said pipe line to meet with the approval of the County Engineer.
The party of the first part further agrees to indemnify and save harmless
the County of Weld from any claims or damages arising by reason of the laying or maintenance
of said pipe line.
It is further agreed that the laying of said pipe line and the maintenance
thereof along said county highway and bridges shall be subject to the approval of the County
Engineer.
It is understood and agreed that this agreement and all the terms and condi-
tions thereof may be assigned by the party of the first part, and upon such assignment each
and all of the terms and conditions hereof shall be binding upon such assignee.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The parties hereto have caused these presents to be
duly executed by the proper officers, the day and year first above written.

and light transmission wires, and all other kinds of aerial construction, together with the
supports therefor, and for all other purposes, including the use of the surface of said pre-
mises, not inconsistent with the maintenance and use by the second party of said public high-
way thereover.
(3) The said highway shall be constructed and maintained by the second party at its
sole cost and expense, and the second party shall be charged with all duty and obligation
as to the due and proper construction, maintenance and use of said highway, it being under-
stood and agreed that the first party does not warrant its premises to be in a suitable cond-
ition for the use herein granted; and that the second party shall release and protect, indem-
nify and save harmless the first party from all claims, demands, suits, judgments, costs,
and expenses for loss, damages or injury to the person or property of any person or persons,
whomsoever, in any manner arising from, or growing out of, the construction, maintenance, ex-
istence or use of said highway on the said premises of the first party and to whatsoever cause.
(4) It is further understood and agreed that if at any time in the future any change
in the use of its said premises by the first party shall in its judgment made such action
necessary, the first party shall have the right, upon six months' notice in writing to the
second party, to terminate this license, and that upon the expiration of said notice period,
all the rights and privileges herein granted to the second party shall cease and determine.
(5) This license shall be binding upon the successors or assigns or the parties hereto.

September 3 , 1929, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County or-
ganized as a board of equalization for the purpose of adjusting, equalizing, raising or
lowering the assessments and valuation of real and personal property within this County
fixed or made by the Colorado Tax Commission and the County Assessor or either of them for
the year 1929.
Now, on this 5th day of September, 1929, the Board sitting as a board of equal-
ization, for the purpose of adjusting, equalising, raising or lowering the assessments and
valuations of real and personal property within this County, fixed or made by the Colorado
Tax Commission and the County Assessor or either of them as certified to this board by the
County Assessor and the Colorado Tax Commission, for the year 1929, and after careful
examination of tax rolls and schedules and all the assessments therein and the property of
the taxpayers hereinafter mentioned and now being fully advised in the premises,
do hereby order the Colorado Tax Commission and the County Assessor to increase the valuation
for assessment purposes of the Union Pacific Railroad Company, the sum of $1,096,377.00,
being $5,530.00 per mile on the miles of said railroad in this County, as certified by the
Colorado Tax Commission to the County Clerk, and being $5,530.00 per mile above the valuation
returned thereon by the Colorado Tax Commission to the County Clerk of this County; such
increase in said assessment of said taxpayers being, in the opinion of this board, necessary
in order to bring the said property of said tax payer in this County to an equalization
with other property of the County.
And it is further ordered that the County Clerk shall, as soon as may be after the
close of this meeting, mail said taxpayers a notice of such change in its assessment and
shall send a copy of this order to the County Assessor and The Colorado Tax Commission and
the State Board of Equalization.

AREAS, The portion of State Highway Number 52 West of Fort Lupton, as contem-
plated has been completed and there remains approximately $2,500.00 left of the Fund
of $20,000.00 allotted to construction of this highway and this amount is insufficient
to the re-location and rebuilding another certain portion of this road,
WHEREAS, A certain portion of number 60, between Eliwell and Johnstown is in
need of immediate widening and rebuilding.
THEREFORE, We hereby petition the State Highway Commission to transfer the
remaining portion of the State Highway's allottment or approximately $1,256.38, and the
County hereby agrees to furnish a like amount for the widening and re-building of
number 60 between Johnstown and Illwell.

Hudson and Denver; Permit Certificate No. 250 for a Truck Line operating between Hudson and
Denver; Permit Certificate No. 23 for a transportation Company operating between Fort Lupton
and Denver; Permit Certificate No. 65 for a Truck Line operating between Johnstown and Denver;
Permit Certificate No. 36 for Transportation Company operating between Sterling and Greeley;
Permit Certificate No. 276 and 277 for a Transportation Company operating between Denver and
Wyoming and Permit Certificate No. 64 operating between La Salle and Greeley and Estes Park
and Permit Certificate No. 301 operating between Greeley and Longmont.
The following motions were adopted:
RESOLUTION
That as to the assessment of the Greeley Co-Operative Company in the city of Greeley,
as made by theCounty Assessor is not out of equalization with other assessments of other proper-
ties of Weld County and the protest is denied.
That as to the assessment of the Motor 44- in the Oity of Greeley, as
made by the County Assessor is not out of equali ation With other assessments of other proper-
ties of Weld County and the protest is denied.
A valuation of $400.00 was placed on the portion within Weld county on Certificate
No. 290, a permit for the truck line between Briggsdale and Denver operated by Hoy Scheller.
A valuation of $200.00 was placed on the portion within Weld County on Certificate
No. 256, a permit for the truck line between Denver and Hudson operated by F. J. Strausbaug.
A valuation of $200.00 was placed on the portion within Weld Oounty on Certificate
No. 250, a permit for the Cook Truck Line operating between Denver and Hudson.
A valuation of $400.00 was placed on the portion within WeldOounty on Certificate
No. 23, a permit for the Fuller Transportation Company operating a truck line between Fort
Lupton and Denver.
A valuation of $400 was placed on the portion within Weld County on Certificate No. 65
a permit for a truck line operating between Johnstown and Denver by Chas. B. Capron.
A valuation of $500.00 was placed on the portion within Weld County on Certificate
No. 36, a permit for the Platte Valley Transportation Co. , operating between Sterling and
Greeley,
A valuation of $1,200.00 was placed on the portion within field County on Certificate
Nos. 276 and 277, a permit for the Pioneers Stages Inc., operating between Denver and Wyoming
A valuation of $30.00 was placed on the portion within Weld county on Certificate
No. 64, a permit for the Greeley Estes Park Transportation Company operating between Greeley
and La Salle and Estes Park.
A valuation of $100.00 was placed on the portion within Weld County on Certificate
No. 301, a permit for a bus line operating between Greeley and Longmont by E. E. Eckels.

BOARD OP EQUALIZATION.
Now on this 17th day of September 1929, the Board setting as a Board of Equalization ''7
for the purpose of adjusting, equalizaing, raising or lowering the assessments and valuations
of real and personal property within this County fixed or made by the Colorado Tax Commission
and the County Assessor or either of them as certified to this Board and to hear objections
and statement of grievances to such changes as heretofore have been made by the Board;
The Board does now consider the written protests filed by Union Pacific Railroad
Company against increase in its assessment for the year 1929, and the Board having read the
written objections of said Union Pacific Railroad Company and having heard the arguments of
E. G. Knowles, counsel for said Railroad Company and being now advised in the premises does
over-rule and deny said petition, objections and statement of grievances of said Union Pacific
Railroad Company.

/ BOARD OF EQUALIZATION.
Now on this 26th day of September, 1929, The Board of County Commissioners
sitting as. a Board of Equalization and the Pioneer Stages Inc. , having presented their
petition requesting the removal and setting aside of taxes assessed against it in the
amount of $1 ,200.00 and the Board having read the petition and having heard the evidence
in support thereof, does now grant said petition on the solde ground that said petitioner
is a common carrier operating in interstate traffic only, and it is hereby odered that
said assessment of $1,200.00 against the Pioneer Stages Inc. be, and the same is hereby
removed and set aside, and
On this day the Board of County Commissioners sitting as a Board of Equalization
and J. S. Morris having presented his protests requesting the removal and setting aside of
taxes assessed against him in the amount of $30.00 being on account of his operating as a
common carrier under permit No. 64 and the Board being fully advised in the premises does
hereby set aside and cancel said assessment on the ground that said J. S. Morris has
abandoned said permit and is not operating under same.
All matters comming before the Board of Equalization having been determined
and there being no further business to come before said Board of Equalization as such,
the same is now adjounred semi die.
