County Public Works Brief description of the problem/issue: The agreement for the Class 6 Contract can be extended from March 2, 2018 to March 1, 2018 as permitted by the contract. This extension would be the third year of a possible three-year term limit. The contract also allows for yearly rate adjustments based upon the current Engineering New -Record (ENR) price for Crushed Stone Base Course which was a 1.97% increase from January 2017 to January 2018. VCA Aggregates LLC requested an increase of 1.85% for North Weld County 2018. The Purchased Class 6 budget amount for 2018 is $352,000.00. The contract price would be up to and not to exceed $110,000.00 for VCA Aggregates LLC. The remainder of 2018 Class 6 budget will be used for Central and South Weld. Central and South Class 6 bid summery price was too high for allowable increase and will have to be bid out for 2018. VCA Aggregates was awarded this contract in 2016 as the low bid in North Weld County and the department has been satisfied with their product. What options exist for the Board? (Include consequences, impacts, costs, etc. of options) The Board may either approve or deny the contract renewal/extension.
