Colorado Interstate Gas ("CIG") owns and operates a 30" diameter natural gas pipeline that is located on
your property. As part of our overall safety program, CIG performs a close interval survey which
measures the strength of the electrical current that runs on our steel pipelines. The electrical current helps
mitigate corrosion on the pipelines.
This project starts at Weld County Road 54 continuing on for 19 additional miles. The purpose of this
letter is to notify you that CIG personnel and its contractors will be traveling the existing right of way
through your property to complete close interval surveys. The dates that our personnel may be on your
lands will be between July 17, 2018 and August 2, 2018, dependent on weather and company resources.
This letter is being mailed to landowners only, and it is requested that you please notify any tenants who
may be renting all or any part of your property. If our pipelines go through your property, please leave the
gates unlocked so we may enter and continue through to the next property. If you have any vehicles or
other items over the top of our pipeline, please move the items off the pipeline. Again, the surveys
mentioned above will not involve any soil disturbance except for paved roads, parking areas or sidewalks
that cover our pipelines. And then we will drill a one inch diameter hole every 5 feet directly over the
pipelines where the impervious material covers the pipes. Once the project is completed, we will fill the
holes with epoxy. As a courtesy we would like you to be aware that this is our personnel on the right of
way.
Depending on the type of property you own, you may see crews walking, using ATV's, or pick-ups, to
get across the right of way to perform the work. Crews will use their best judgment when accessing your
property.
