RE: APPROVE VACATION OF SITE SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND USE BY
SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT, USR14-0004 - STATE OF COLORADO, CIO BONANZA
CREEK ENERGY OPERATING COMPANY, LLC
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by resolution on April 9, 2014, the Board did approve Site Specific
Development Plan and Use by Special Review Permit, USR14-0004, for a 100 -foot tall
Telecommunication Tower in the A (Agricultural) Zone District for the State of Colorado, c/o
Bonanza Creek Operating Energy Company, LLC, on the following described real estate, to -wit:
Subdivision Exemption, SUBX14-0001, being part of
Section 16, Township 5 North, Range 62 West of the
6th P.M., Weld County, Colorado
WHEREAS, the Board has received a request from the State of Colorado, c/o Bonanza
Creek Operating Energy Company, LLC, 410 17th Street, Suite 1400, Denver, Colorado 80202,
to vacate said Use by Special Review Permit, USR14-0004, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners heard all of the testimony and
statements of those present, studied the request of the applicant and the recommendations of the
Department of Planning Services staff and all of the exhibits and evidence presented in this matter
and, having been fully informed, deems it advisable to approve said vacation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Use by Special Review Permit, USR14-0004, be, and hereby is, vacated.

SUBJECT: Vacation of USR14-0004 (100 -foot tall
telecommunication tower)
Request:
Bonanza Creek, in a letter dated December 21, 2017 is requesting that USR14-0004 for a
100 -foot tall telecommunication tower be vacated. On June 28, 2017, the Board of County
Commissioners conditionally approved USR17-0020, for a 190 -foot tall telecommunication tower.
One of the conditions of approval for USR17-0020 is to vacate the USR14-0004. The applicant
has removed the old tower.
The Department of Planning Services is in support of this request.
Legal:
Subdivision Exemption SUBX14-0001, being part of the NW4NE4 of Section 16, T5N, R62W of
the 6th p.m., Weld County, Co
Location:
Approximately 6.5 miles north of State Highway 34; 5 miles west of County Road 89
Background:
In 2014 Bonanza Creek received approval for a subdivision exemption and USR14-0004 to
construct a 100 -foot tall telecommunications tower. The tower was constructed and it was
determined that a 190 -foot tall telecommunications tower was needed. In 2017 Bonanza Creek
received approval for a subdivision exemption USR17-0020 to construct a 190 -foot -tall
telecommunications tower. The new tower was constructed and the old tower (USR14-0004)
has been removed. This vacation is a condition of approval on USR16-0020 to vacate
USR14-0004. 14-0004.
