RE: APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO APPOINT COMMISSIONER BARBARA KIRKMEYER
TO TOWN OF ERIE URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY BOARD
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Town of Erie Urban Renewal Authority (TOEURA) has been established to
provide urban renewal within portions of the Town of Erie, pursuant to C.R.S. §§31-25-101, et seq.,
and
WHEREAS, C.R.S. § 31-25-104(2.5) allows for the appointment to the TOEURA Board of
one county commissioner "of the county in which the territorial boundaries of the urban renewal
authority are located," and
WHEREAS, TOEURA's territorial boundaries include areas within Boulder and Weld
Counties, and
WHEREAS, because five of the seven current TOEURA projects are located within Weld
County, the Commissioners from Boulder and Weld Counties have concluded that a Weld County
Commissioner be appointed to the TOEURA Board, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Weld County recommends to the Executive
Director of TOEURA that Weld County Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer be appointed to the
TOEURA Board as a new member.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Commissioner Barbara Kirkmeyer be, and hereby is, recommended for
appointment to the TOEURA Board.
