The Weld County Board of Health met October 23, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. in the second-floor hearing
room of the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment. Those present included:
Board Members: Joyce Smock, Chair; Nicholas Berryman, Fred Hepner, Tim Annable,
James Kuemmerle, Linda Kautz
Others: Lauren Light, Deb Adamson, Environmental Health Services
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
A motion was made by Linda Kautz to approve the agenda as presented. Tim Annable
seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve minutes as presented. Nick Berryman
seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
BUSINESS
VERIS ENVIRONMENTAL, LLC— Lauren Light presented nine biosolids renewal applications and
recommends approval. No public comments or concerns were received.
DS-200104, DS-200418, DS-200548, DS-200635, DS-200640, DS-201209, DS-201320,
DS-201322, DS-201325.
A motion was made by Fred Hepner to approve renewal applications. Linda Kautz seconded the
motion and the motion was carried unanimously.
PRESENTATIONS:
Mike Schwan— Health Communication Education and Planning
Mike gave a presentation on Early Child Obesity.

2015 - 7.3
2016 - 7.0
• Partner with Northern Colorado Breastfeeding Coalition (NCBC)
• Promote physical activity in child care settings
• Increase quantity and quality of structured teacher led activities
• Focus on nutrition and gardening
• Campaigns-9 Ways to Grow Healthy Colorado Kids and 5210
• Increase awareness through Colorado Workplace Accommodation for Nursing Mothers Act

Staff Discussion:
Board of Health members took a tour of the Environmental Health Services Lab.
A motion was made by Joyce Smock to adjourn the meeting. The motion was carried
unanimously.
