regarding committee meetings and public input sessions as well as provide access to the committee

To help facilitate communication between the public and the committee, the county wi// set up a generic email address
and publicize it on the web page, news releases and social media posts. The emails sent to the email address
2018crc@weldgov.com will be routed directly to the committee and committee staff. Emails received in this email box
will receive an auto response thanking them for the email and letting the sender know that the email was delivered to
the committee and committee staff. There will be no dialogue between the sender and the county.
Advertising Budget
3/21: Done; Board unanimously denied
3/14 ask
A request was made to see if the Board would allocate money for advertising (print and possibly radio) for the public
input meetings. Preliminary research into ad prices for the newspapers throughout Weld County was done and a
resulted in an estimated minimum expense of approximately $2,325 for one %4 page, black and white ad to run one time
in the paper closest to where the meeting would be held (color would be approximately $3,300). The board unanimously
denied the request for funds for advertising.

municipalities with the request they print, post and share.

These are being reviewed currently, and will be shared with the committee at the next meeting. These summaries can

NEWS RELEASE
MEETING DATES SET FOR CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE
WELD COUNTY, CO Last night, the 2018 Ad Hoc Charter
Review Committee confirmed both their general meeting
dates and the community/public input meeting dates.
While the public is invited to attend any of the meetings,
the general meetings are for committee discussion and the
community meetings are geared toward gathering public
comments regarding possible amendments to the Weld
County Home Rule Charter.
All meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings from
March through May. Additional meetings may be
heduled later in the review process depending on public
,„ terest. The goal of the committee is to -eview the home
rule charter to make sure it is up to date and meets state
constitution and statutory requirements. The public's
participation in this review is highly valued as the charter
serves as the foundation for Weld County government.
The committee, which consists of nine Weld County
residents, was officially formed on March 5 following a
public application and selection process. Committee
members include Al Dominguez (Windso-), Jackie Johnson
(Greeley), Dave Kisker (Johnstown), Mark Lawley (Eaton),
Raymond Patch (Greeley), Justus Pettit (Pierce), Garrett
Varra (Longmont), James Welch (LaSalle) and Sam Gluck
(LaSalle) . During their initial meeting, held March 14, the
committee elected Jackie Johnson to serve as the
committee chair and Al Dominguez to serve as the
committee vice -chair.
