RE: AWARDING CONTRACT FOR ADVERTISING AND LEGAL NOTICES TO PLATTE-
VILLE HERALD AND LASALLE LEADER FOR A ONE-YEAR PERIOD.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director of Weld County has, hereto-
fore, pursuant to law and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, ad-
vertised for bids for County advertising and legal notices for a
one-year period commencing April 1, 1979 and ending March 31, 1980 ,
and
WHEREAS, the Platteville Herald and LaSalle Leader have sub-
mitted the successful bid to Weld County, which bid is as follows :

PUBLISHING PROCEEDINGS OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND COUNTY WELFARE BOARD:

PUBLISHING OF SEMI-ANNUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENT FURNISHED BOARD BY COUNTY TREASURER:
First Insertion $ .98
PUBLISHING DELINQUENT TAX LIST:
First Insertion $ .98
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Platteville Herald and
LaSalle Leader be, and hereby are, designated as the official
newspapers for the publication of the proceedings of the Board of
County Commissioners and County Welfare Board, and for the publica-
tion of legal notices required by law to be published by various
Weld County officials for a one-year period commencing April 1 ,
1979 and ending March 31, 1980 , all as per the hereinabove
schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a satisfactory bond, subject to
the approval of the Board of County Commissioners , may be required
of the Platteville Herald and LaSalle Leader in connection with
the award of this contract for advertising, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commis-
sioners may consider the use of other news media as additional
methods of informing the citizens of certain official acts ,
events, determinations , proceedings and meetings , pursuant to
Section 16-6 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this contract shall become
effective on April 1, 1979 and that the Board reserves the
right to terminate this contract at any time.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 21st day of
March, A.D. , 1979.
